WIW: Working my neutrals

I really like how this looks together today!  This skirt is proof that there is life beyond suits for "business skirts".  I bought this skirt on sale at Ann Taylor (deep discount), in hopes that one day, the jacket would go on sale as well. Of course, that never happened and I was left with an orphaned skirt.  It's lighter than the Halogen skirts, so hopefully I can work it into more spring outfits.

You guys are going to be sick of my oxfords before it's all said and done.  I should probably go ahead and buy a 2nd pair, because I see where this is heading. :)

For my topper this morning, I paired it with my fave combo of my JCrew jacket & leopard scarf. Temps are supposed to be in the low 60s, but I don't plan on being outside anyway, so my legs should be fine.

I'll never be sick of your oxfords.  I have four pairs and love the comfort and the casual vibe.

Great casual outfit for a spring day!

I won't bee sick of your oxfords either. I've worn a grey laceless pair into the ground and need a replacement. Great outfit!

I took my husband with me to Nordstroms on Tuesday with the intent on buying these in the gray, he sneered up at them so hard that I left them! 'Whaaat? They're just like my brown ones!"  His response was "But that's a color I can see...I can ignore the brown ones because they are skin toned!" LOL!!

This morning he called me after I arrived at work to tell me how good he thought this outfit looked. He said "now I can see the shoes...I like them, they work!".

    Men. *sigh*

I think you will get a lot of good use out of that skirt. Your outfit looks great.
I agree that you should get your other pair of oxfords, they go with everything and you know you will enjoy them.

At least your man was open to changing his mind!

Oxfords are amazing, and you're making neutrals your own!

I really really REALLY like these outfits. I love the grey with the dark tan of your oxfords.

I love that he called you to tell you that he loved your outfit! That's fantastic!

I love this whole outfit. The range of neutral tones is just gorgeous, and those oxfords are amazing with the skirt. LOVE.

Love the print on that top and the leopard print scarf really energizes the whole outfit.

Thanks ladies -- Seriously before seeing tons of pics of flats + skirts at YLF, I never would have even worn flats with this outfit, much less oxfords, but now, I'm much more comfortable with the idea.  In my head skirts on me needed a heel to look decent. These days, I realize skirts on me don't *need* anything much to make them look cute. It's a nice thing to realize.

For some reason I just LOVE this with that jacket over it.  I think it really adds to the casual kind of kicky vibe of the oxfords with the skirt.
